2006 Olympics Frequently Asked Questions

Event dates:

  1. The web site specify June 30th and July 4th as the target dates for the Olympics; what are the events on June 30th and July 4thFriday, June 30th, is reserved for folks to arrive on LMU campus and check into their dorm rooms.  No games on June 30th.  The preliminary games begin on Saturday, July 1st.  The finals are scheduled for Tuesday, July 4th.  Closing ceremony will be at 2 pm on July 4th.

  

Games:

  1. When is the drop-dead deadline for team registration?  June 22nd.
  2. What is the minimum age for someone to play in adult basketball?  15 and up.
  3. Is it possible to name 8 players (instead of 7 as noted on the web site) for the adult basketball team?  No.
  4. Are there games for children under 8?  Yes, ZSC has fun events for children under 8.  These events will not be at a competitive level.
  5. Is the payment for team games per person or per team?  The payment is per person, and all the team members should register and make individual payments. However as far as team member goes, is enough if only the captain fill in the name of all team members.
  6. How can I register for ONLY individual games? In forms you have the option to choose only individual games. However, the simplest package includes one team game and unlimited individual games.

  

Events:

  1. Can I only participate in events and not register in any game? Yes, you can register for events only, and not play in any games. To do this you still would be using the online registration but select 'No Game Participation - Only Beach Night/Disco/Banquet' in the second form.
  2. Is there an age limit for the disco night?  14 and up.

 

Payment options:

  1. Paying by paypal is not convenient, is there another option?  Yes, please send your registration form with a personal check by regular mail to the address specified on the registration form.
